Sunday was a pretty scary day for me as a Mom. Just before church Trenton was screaming and writhing in pain, he threw up but had nothing in his stomach. He said his back and chest hurt, (Jacqueline also said that hurt back hurt in the same spot, but we just thought she was trying to get in on the attention Trenton was getting.) I ended up cuddling Trenton until he fell into a fitful sleep.
When he was fast asleep I laid him in bed and went to church to do my calling while my hubby stayed home and watched him. He was still asleep when I arrived home and sent Joe off to Church to do his calling.
A little while later, Jacqueline started complaining of the same pains Trenton had, I told her to lay on the couch and get out of her Sunday dress. She was moaning on the couch when Trenton came down and said he felt fine and when could he go to church. Soon after that Jacqueline started crying and then screaming, then writhing in pain. I was really worried, you could tell she was in some major pain.
So I called the advice nurse and told Jacqueline to put on shoes to go the ER. I was on hold for awhile, and Jacqueline was crying and moaning in the bathroom, I kept checking on her and was really worried, so I called Joe on my cell and told him he needed to come home and watch the other kids so I could take Jacqueline to the ER.
He said he had to do one last thing and would be there as fast as he could. Jennedy was sleeping and Trenton and Jerika were cuddled up on the couch watching TV, so I wrote down my cell number and Joe's, and told Jerika she was in charge and dad would be home in 15 min.
Well I went up to talk to Jacqueline and she was on the bathroom floor, naked, screaming and bawling. She said she had to puke. So I continued to wait for her and the advice nurse. Which turned out to be a good thing because after 5 min, Jerika brought Trenton upstairs, thinking dad was home, and he was in severe pain again, crying, screaming and saying his back and stomach area hurt again too.
So at that moment the advice nurse got on the phone. I told her the problems and she listened as my two children screamed and writhed in pain. I dropped the phone at one point because I was holding Trenton who was writhing in pain and was walking in to talk to Jacqueline. The advice nurse told me to go to the ER.
So I got Jacqueline dressed as she cried and screamed. Meanwhile Trenton Puked again, I was holding a bowl so it did not get anywhere thank goodness.
I picked up Trenton, grabbed his shoes and took him to the car. I handed him a bowl to puke in and ran in to carry out Jacqueline and grabbed her shoes. They were both in the car and moaning as I pulled out of the drive way. After a couple of minutes Jacqueline yells that she is throwing up. I cant help because I am on the freeway so I tell her to grab the bowl from Trenton, I look back and her mouth is closed tight filled with puke and she is grabbing his bowl. She throws up a lot and gets lots on herself.
Well we arrive at the doctors, I use a wet wipe to get some of the puke off her and go to check in.
After a long wait The ER Doc that sees us and says that they have the stomach flu and the pain was intense cramping. They both have low grade fevers and cant stop dry heaving, so The Doc gives them anti nausea meds, waits a half hour then sees if they can keep down water, then after another half hour apple juice, then sends us home with instructions to only give small amounts of clear liquid for 24 hours then slowly add small amounts of food if they don't feel stomach pain or throw up again.
So here we are on Wed, Jacqueline Is still not eating because when she does her stomach hurts, she is surviving on apple juice and Popsicles. Trenton is doing fine, he is eating and has not complained of pains since Monday.
Seriously it was a crazy Sunday don't ya think.

Mothers day
Well here it is 10 pm on mothers day and as it winds down I have to say, I love mothers day so much.
It is probably because I love being a mother so much. It's those kids, I am just crazy about my kids. I LOVE THEIR STINKIN' GUTS!!!!*
I really had no idea how much fun I would have being a mother, how much I would get to laugh, (I mean seriously I get to laugh so so much each and every day) and how much I would love these adorable little beings that make my heart explode with joy and appreciation.
They teach me so much about patience and kindness, and how to stay young at heart. They bring me closer to my Heavenly Father than anything I have ever known. I understand how very much he loves me because of them. I am truly blessed and thank my Heavenly Father for letting me be a mom to these wonderful choice spirits.
Happy mothers day!
*(Recently my kids have watched the little rascals and at one point Alfalfa is writing a letter to his buddy and it it he writes "I hate your stinking guts!!!" Well my kids glommed onto that and we have seen it written and heard it on their lips too many times to count. We keep encouraging them to speak more kindly but it has not been a successful endeavor. Well on the way to church today, they were saying it again, I admit it is pretty funny to hear a two year old say it and I try not to snicker, but it is hard. Anyhoo, Joe started reminding them that it was not the kind of thing they should be saying to each other, and I piped right up and said, "Hey Jerika, I LOVE your stinkin guts," and they laughed so hard and then I told that to each kid the same thing and they yelled it back and now we are all saying that now and not the other mean one, cus we are not mean in our family.)
My favorite things about motherhood today...
~When My boy, trenton said "I want to cuddle with you mom"
~When Jennedy yells, "Mom!" then can't think of any thing to say when I say "What?", and says "I wuv you." This happens continually throughout most days.
~When I said "lets read scriptures" and my children shout for joy and run to get them.
~When Jerika and Jacqueline, who are recent readers, told me which pages they would each read, and read the scriptures to me.
~When Jennedy threw a fit when she was not the one to find the scriptures first, and ran to her room where she proceeded to scream, since no one went to get her, she came into the Living room, climbed on my lap, throwing herself under my scriptures laying flat on me and continued her crying. (I guess there is no point in crying unless someone is there to hear you.)
~When I got breakfast in bed, brought to me by my kids and wonderful cook of a husband.
~When Trenton kept saying through out the day "happy muvers valentines day mom"
~When I got adorable hand made gifts from my kids and chocolates from my hubby.
~When I got to go back to sleep after breakfast and my husband got the kids dressed for church and breakfast cleaned up, then the kids to watch a video, and came back to bed too.
~When, instead of a flower, we got a See's Candy bar at Church for Mothers day.
~When we went to see our baby Jonathan and birth mother. Jonathan saw me drive up and was around to my door before I even got out of the car, and threw himself in my arms and cuddled up to me. We had a great visit with birth mom and Jonathan. She and Jonathan had made cards for me, they glued seeds onto a cute card. Our kids made cards for her too. It was such a lovely time.
