Updates on Tricia
So My younger sister Tricia had her surgery on Friday to remove her cancerous thyroid tumor and all went well. It took about 4 hours instead of the two they thought it would take. There were several reasons for this, first the nasty tumor was bigger than the Doctors thought it would be. Second, That darn larger tumor was near an important nerve or something and Third, the tumor was very close to her vocal cords and the whole voice box so it was tricky surgery so she could keep her voice.
We all know she needs her voice.
I guess the doctor did a great job of stitching up the giant cut he put in her neck, leaving no visible outside stiches. That is pretty cool
She took a picture yesterday on her cell phone of the first time she has seen her neck without bandages on it. I asked if i could post, she said sure. so here it is.
She is such a brave gal and that cancer has not beat her. They are still waiting on the biopsy they took of her lymph node before she is declared cancer free, I will let you know. But for now we believe all is well and there is no more cancer in her body.
Hooray!!!

Poor little guy
So all the results are in on my little son, Trenton.
Are you kidding me?
NOPE.
So we just started him on antibiotics. First they had him on an electrolyte solution because he was dehydrated and had a lost bunch of weight. (yup, that put him under the 0 percentile again) He is rehydrated now. But remember how he was sleeping and laying around for 10 days, well he is much improved since then, so I think we are nearing the end of his sickness streak.
I found the picture above on my camera, it was not taken by me but by his three yr old sister, Jennedy when they found the camera.
What?
You want to see more of the pictures they took.
OK
Well you asked for it.
So do you think she has a career in photography ahead of her?

My non eating son.
So Trenton has been weird for the last 5 days. He sleeps constantly and is so tired. He lays around and is not the normal hyperactive two year old we are used to. He does not appear to be sick since there are no other symptoms but extreme fatigue. I called the nurse and she said I might bring him in if he does not improve. He improve a little each day so we have not gone to the doctor.
Still is so weird. He just wants to sleep and cuddle with mom (yes I love that part) He still has his funny personality but is so tired. I will see him laying on the ground while others play around him. His sisters will be running and jumping and he will be laying on me. Also he just goes and gets in his bed randomly and goes to sleep both during the day and and hour before bed time. He also will fall asleep randomly on the floor throughout the day.
Here is the other thing. He is back to not eating. Sure he will always eat candy and cookies, but real food he will reject right out. So we are feeding him pediasure again. It is yummy and sweet and he likes it and we have to get him nutrients some how, so we are back to that.
He is doing much better today. Thank goodness, the tiredness will hit him later in the evening, unlike the first three days where he was constantly tired.
Someone said maybe he is going through a growth spurt, I guess some kids get really tired when their bodies are growing. But he is not eating, so that is weird too.
Who knows, but it is a struggle to feed him when he is hungry, begging for food, and he can not tell you what he will eat. (he will usually say chocolate, or candy, or a sucker, but even yesterday he would not even eat chocolate) So bizarre.
Here is a video of me trying to figure out what to feed him.

Valentine's Weekend Fun
So this weekend was a busy and fun one. First We had a ward Primary party.
Then we went to Jerika's dance class. She loves Tap and baton Twirling the best.(sorry no pictures)
Then after lunch, Jacqueline had her gymnastics invitational. Here are some videos of her cute little performances.
First her beam routine. She fell off, but later said "That's OK, you only have to stop if you fall off twice." She is so cute and has such a good attitude.
here is her Bars routine
Here is her Floor routine.
And here's Jacqueline with her medals and her gymnastics friend Tyla.
Later that night we had friends over to make heart shaped pizzas and watch the DVR'ed opening ceremony to the Olympics. The kids loved it and danced when there was dancing, they were so entertaining and we had a wonderful night.
I also took no pictures of that or valentines day fun. I am really slacking. Now I can not scrapbook the event....and that is the true tragedy here folks.

Worry
I cried and cried as I was trying to go to sleep last night.
Why?
My Sweet sister Tricia called to tell me the results of her biopsy yesterday. We have been waiting and hoping that the golf ball size growth on her neck would be a benign thyroid nodule.
Her call yesterday was that it was Cancer and they need to get it out and make sure it had not spread. Cancer is scary and this is a hard time for her and her family. Still there is a ton of hope. Her Thyroid cancer although rare is one were the recovery rate is so good and if they get her thyroid out and it has not spread she will be just fine and she will have survived cancer.
Truth is, we all worry and wonder about the worst possible outcome, but I am trying to stay positive and not cry too much. (not really working too well)
This is so fresh for us since our littlest sister passed away two years ago and we often say that we are the only sister we have left. We need each other and we have been in contact daily since she found out about the lump on her neck. It will all be ok, I know it, but it sure makes you cherish each other and life and how precious the people you love are.
I love you Tricia, you are strong, beautiful and so wonderful and we will have a good story to tell on the other side of this trial.
Love your Sister Tiff

Date night
I finally got to go on a date, all alone with my man. It feels like it has been forever since it was just the two of us together. We double date a lot and love it, but being just the two of us was so great. I loved how we talked and had no little kids to interrupt our conversations, I loved how we held hands and we were the only ones in the whole world. I loved looking into his handsome blue eyes and remembering how much I love this incredible man and how lucky we are to be in this life together. We went to dinner and a movie and shared our feelings about life and the kids. It was such a great night and I am dying to do it again. Here is a picture from our wedding. I love how the wind picked up my viel.
By the way, we saw the new movie AVATAR and I was amazed. This show is by far the very best movie I have ever ever seen. It was beautiful, powerful, and the story was great. Did you see it yet. It blew me away. Wow Wow Wow. Can you tell I really like it a lot. Yup I did.![]()

Family Fun and Food Storage
Joseph's birthday was last week and he wanted to get these cool food storage buckets where the lids screw off easily and are airtight and watertight. So that is what he got. 12 of them. He loves them.
Here he is getting his presents
Then on Saturday we headed over to Costco to get all the stuff to go in them.
Well last night for family night, we had a lesson on food storage, then we filled up the buckets, it was so fun and great to feel a little bit more prepared for emergencies.
When we were done the kids asked if they could do a project. We said yes, so they huddled up and then came back to us and said that they wanted to invent a robot. It was so funny. So joe went out and got some old computer parts from a machine that was old and broken and the family built there first robot. It was so fun and funny. Here it is.
