Grandma Camp

The older girls were gone last weekend and we only had the baby for three whole days. It was a nice break for us and they had a blast. The went with thier grandma Lowe to "Grandma camp" She took them on hikes, and roasted marshmellows and made smores. She got them both backpacks that had toilet paper binoculors, canteens, a field guide, and trail mix in them. She also let them sleep in a tent as well as give them little dolly tents. The did arts and crafts, one was sewing together a canoe project. They had a wonderful time and we enjoyed having time alone with just one child. They came home with many stories of the fun time they had. One thing that they are still laughing about was when they were hiking and sat down for a rest and to write in their field guide journal and grandma fell off the bench. At first they were startled and worried but grandma laughed and they started crackin up then they told that story and laughed all over every time.

Birthday fun

Yesterday was Jacqueline's birthday party. Her mom came and that actually worked out lovely. Jacqueline was happy to have her mom there and she was very nice. She does not speak english so Joe had to translate for her, which he did very well. Jacqueline is such a cutie, she asked for a heart cake so we worked on that during the day, the kids loved frosting the cake but putting sprinkles on was thier favorite part. We had the party at a park and it got cold and dark very early so we were opening presents and eating cake in the dark. Joes brother had a chargable flashlight that is like a flood light that he brought out so that worked well, I should have thought ahead and brought our lantern but oh well. We ended up bringing so much stuff that we had a full van, but no lantern. Oh well as hard as i try to plan the perfect event I do forget some things. Still we had a nice time and Jacqueline had a fun birthday party.

Rainy day

Its is raining in oregon today. Wet and lovely, I like the rain it makes everything smell so fresh and clean. I dont like my hair getting wet when I go out in a storm, but that is what they make umbrellas for. Last night Jacqueline was so cute. She is really loving being able to talk and does so non stop. She says, "I need talk you, mom" I say ok and she launches into a long discorse about who knows what. Most of it does not make sence but she loves the attention of me saying, really, oh my. She was telling me about the pictures on the outside of the sleeping beauty video yesterday evening and she was so cute, I just had to say "I love you so much" she said I love you too and said she needed a hug too. I gave her one then looked down at her and she had this big puckered up lip thing going on, so I kissed her. She then took her little hands and put them on my face and turned my head and kissed my cheek, then she kissed my other cheek, then my nose. She then told me to kiss her nose which I happily did. Then she scampered off to play. It was one of those mother moments that I love so much.

Bed time Stories

The other day I was reading a bedtime story to the girls and it was about a duck hatching. That led to a discussion about how they were born. We talked about my C-section a bit and had a fun little discussion about natural birth. Well yesterday I was watching the girls playing and they were putting thier dolls up their shirts and Jerika would yell to Jacqueline to come and cut a hole in her tummy so her baby could come out. I was cracking up. It is amazing how they play out thier worlds.
Jennedy is getting so big now, she is offically 2 months old. Just this week she started grinning at me everytime I come into the room and she sees me. She will coo and smile and it warms my heart. Sometimes, I admit, I get a tear in my eye because I love her so much. It will be really hard when she leaves us and goes and lives with her mom, someone she barely knows. Still I feel very blessed to have her and be able to love her for this short time. Who knows what the future holds but for now I love to look at my smiley baby and enjoy the happiness I feel being her mom.

Feeling so lucky

I was thinking about how lucky I am and how blessed I feel, my sweet little family has grown so much and although some days are hard it is well worth having these sweet girls.

Still the nights are killing me, waking up to feed a infant is exhausting. Then I don't get sleep during the day as my preschoolers are up at 6:45 am and want their mom to fix them breakfast and play. I am so tired these days. But Jennedy is smiling a lot more and is no longer that infant who has no idea who you are. She gets all smily and even giggles in her own sweet way. It is so precious. Babies are the best.

So today I decided to Start a blog, I was a little bored and thought it might be fun to record my life in a blog. So I hope you all enjoy reading it and getting a little look into my life and the life of my family.
We just had another foster child arrive, our Little Jennedy. She is now 2 months old and thriving. Here she is with her sisters. They love her. Jerika is kissing her finger so she can place a special kiss on her sister. Jacqueline is cheezing it up for the camera. We have a full house now with three little precious girls.
