So when I was walking Jerika home from the bus after kindergarten she told me that her little friend, Tu, had given her something on the bus and she was so excited. So when she got home she showed me this cute little envelope that looked like a Japanese origami envelope, super cute. We opened it up and took out a cute little hand written note that said
This cute little boy had given my sweet little girl her first love note. Awwwwh!
When her dad got home, she showed it to him and we were all talking about how cute it was, her getting her first love letter. This is when Jerika got really embarrassed, especially when I told her I was going to do a scrapbook page. She said she just wanted to throw it away.
I told her that when she grew up she would be happy that I saved and scrap booked her first love note. She does not believe me. You know she would love it later right? So I should totally go against her 5 year old wishes and do it anyway. I know what is best right? Of course I do.
Apparently she does not love this little boy, he is just her Friend and liked the note until we made something big of it. How dare we? Crazy Parents!!

A couple of weeks ago when I was walking Jerika home from the bus she told me that she and Tu had started a band. (Cute) She said that Tu would play the drums, her Friend Cassidy the piano, and she would be the lead singer. She said she wanted her friends to come over and practice. Of course I said yes, anytime. I mean what parent doesn't want their kid in a band.
The next day walking home Jerika said. "The band almost broke up today."
Apparently, Cassidy said she did not want to be in it and Jerika said that if Cassidy did not want to be in the band that she did not want to either. Then Tu said he still would be in the band, and Jerika said if he stayed in the band she would too, then of course Cassidy had to join again, she did not want to be left out of the band.
So the band was back on.
Well I did not hear anything about the band for a couple of days so I asked Jerika how the band was going. She said, "oh we are done with the band now." I asked her why and she said "because we did not have a stage." Oh.
Five year olds crack me up.
