The sweet smell is missing.

You know what I want that I dont have. Yummy smelling laundry that lasts. I want it, I crave it. I want to pick up a new pair of clothes out of the drawer and put them to my face, breath in and smell sweet smell.

Currently I smell nothing.

I have tried different brands of detergent and fabric softeners but it does not last.

I remember a commercial of yester-years that talked about a detergent that made your towels and clothes smell fresh and good even weeks after washing. I so so want that.

Does anyone know what that was or did it work.

I got some clothes from a lady in our ward for the babies as her boys were all grown up. I took some out and smelled them. ( I do that OK, you know you do too.) and they smelled so good. Maybe I should call her and ask what she uses. But we are not close and she is pretty shy, and I don't really feel like actually talking to someone on the phone. So I am turning to you all. Help me if you can.
Much love,

I'm a regular old Tide girl myself!

I do use tide and it does not smell good for long unless I air dry the clothes.

Tiffany, I love, love, LOVE Tide Mountain Spring. Seriously...it's a little more expensive, but I love it. I fill the cup to the top too...and I just use Bounce dryer sheets...don't know if they do much. :) --Tina

TIFF: JUST CALL HER! SHE MIGHT NEED A FRIEND RIGHT NOW AND THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO KILL TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE. GET YOUR LAUNDRY SMELLING SWEET FOR WEEKS, AND BRIGHTEN HER LIFE A LITTLE AT THE SAME TIME. JUST CALL HER! I WOULD JUST RECOMMEND "MOTH BALLS". THEY SMELL MOTHY FOR SO SO LONG...

I *love* the smell of fresh laundry! Love it. I even love walking past a house where they're doing laundry and the vent is phooshing the wonderful smell out into the air. They should make perfume that smells like laundry.

Regarding your questions, like the other commenters, I, too, love the smell of Tide, but it's too expensive, so I don't buy it. I do buy Downy, though, to use on my sheets and towels, and MAN do I love climbing into the sheets on that first day or so after they've been washed! But I'm not sure the smell really lasts any longer than detergent. I use Bounce sheets on everything else, and that doesn't really last that long either.

I think Jay is right - just ask her. Just give her a straight up, "I've got to tell you - your laundry smells great! What do you use?" She'll be complimented and you might break through some of her shyness to create a new comfort level.
